By Catherine Mah |

On the latest episode of Policy Chats, Dr. Johannes Moenius, Peggi Hazlett, Sheheryar Kaoosji, and Dr. Juan De Lara talk with the University of California, Riverside Inland Center for Sustainable Development about the impacts of logistics and warehousing on employment and quality of jobs in the Inland Region.

In the episode, the panel talks about employment and quality of life in the region.

Peggi Hazlett states, “I’d like to see a shift in the narrative when we start to talk about these things. I’d like to see some change in the way that the industry is upskilling its employees to make sure that they are the next generation of workers that we need to have to move with technology changes that are happening in the industry.”

The four panelists were chosen to each speak upon their various areas of expertise. First, Dr. Johannes Moenius serves as the Chair of Spatial Economic Analysis and Regional Planning in the School of Business & Society at the University of Redlands. Peggi Hazlett serves as the Chief Executive Officer at the Greater Ontario Business Council. Sheheryar Kaoosji serves as the Executive Director in the Warehouse Worker Resource Center at PowerSwitch Action. Finally, Dr. Juan De Lara teaches as an Associate Professor of American Studies and Ethnicity at USC.
