Governor’s Chief Service Officer Talks Volunteering

On the latest episode of Policy Chats, Chief Service Officer Josh Fryday talks about volunteerism and uniting individuals through service.

 

Fryday leads California Volunteers in the Officer of the Governor which has launched the nation’s first statewide Climate Action Corps, #CaliforniansForAll volunteer initiative, the #CaliforniansForAll College Corps, and #CaliforniansForAll Youth Jobs Corps.

In the episode, Fryday spoke with two public policy students who interviewed him for the podcast. He said, “I…love the focus on how service and volunteering can transform not just communities, but also individuals.”

He also discussed the importance of California Volunteers. “We think about the need for volunteering and serving on a few different levels and the importance of it,” he said. “We think it's absolutely critical for us to solve some of the biggest challenges facing our society.”
