The Future of Transportation in the Inland Region

By Divya Bharadwaj |

The Inland Center for Sustainable Development (ICSD), a research center of the UCR School of Public Policy, hosted a seminar by Dr. Raymond Wolfe of the San Bernardino County Transportation Authority on January 26, 2023, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the CE-CERT Building. The event, titled “The Future of Transportation in the Inland Region,” examined housing, growth and economic development, social justice, environment, water, education, and more that the Inland Region must address.

“We are very pleased to have Dr. Wolfe, the Executive Director of the San Bernardino County Transportation Agency, join us for the January 26 seminar and hear his thoughts on what this region’s transportation plans are for the future, including where funding opportunities and constraints lie, how people will move about in the region and beyond and what changes might be in store for transportation in Riverside and San Bernardino Counties,” said Rick Bishop, the ICSD’s External Director, and the former Executive Director of Western Riverside Council of Governments.

This event, which is part of the Randall Lewis Seminar Series, was conducted in an interview format, with audience participation encouraged, as the goal is to create an informal setting for government and industry leaders to share their roles and responsibilities within an organization, as well as provide their insight on issues throughout the Inland Region. It was followed by a reception.
