Have you ever wanted to become a City Manager?

By Maya Prasad |

On Friday, March 6th, 2020 the School of Public Policy will be hosting the City Manager for the City of Riverside, Al Zelinka.

The event will be held at the University of California, Riverside in CHASS Interdisciplinary South 1109 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Al Zelinka is the City Manager of Riverside, the City of Arts & Innovation. Al’s professional goal is to make a difference in communities, and this aspiration drives his work on behalf of Riverside’s elected leaders, residents, businesses, and staff. His public service roles during the past decade include: Assistant City Manager, and Community Development Director for the City of Riverside; and Community Development Director and Planning Manager for the City of Fullerton.

“As a public policy major concentrating in urban/environmental policy this will be an excellent opportunity to further my understanding of what I can accomplish in this field,” said Genevieve Chacon, a third-year public policy major.

The event is open to all UCR students. Those interested can register via https://spp-zelinka.eventbrite.com. For more information about the panel, contact markma@ucr.edu.
