On Thursday, February 20th, the UCR School of Public Policy will be hosting a seminar by Gabriel Maldonado, founder and CEO of TruEvolution. Maldonado will go over key strategies and best practices for engaging with local communities, identifying key policy disparities, developing policy recommendations, and driving an advocacy agenda to implement.

The event will be held at Glen Mor K106 on Thursday, February 20th, 2020 from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Gabriel Maldonado has served as CEO of TruEvolution, an LGBT justice and community health organization based in Riverside and San Bernardino County, for over 10 years. Originally from Compton, Gabriel centers racial justice and health equity as a framework for public policy. He serves on the board of directors for AIDS Healthcare Foundation, a global HIV/AIDS provider, and on the board of trustees for Borrego Community Health Foundation, the largest federally-qualified health center in the State of California. As a former member of the President's Advisory Council on HIV/AIDS, Gabriel has been a leader in the fight for global AIDS control and local policy efforts addressing mental health, housing, and sexual health services.

Maldonado is also an alumnus of UCR, having graduated in 2011 with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science / International Relations. He received his MBA from University of Redlands in 2014.
