The UCR School of Public Policy (SPP) is the latest addition to the UC Riverside academic enterprise. The Master of Public Policy program was launched in Fall 2015, and continues to train a new generation of forward-thinking public policy leaders equipped to address the complex, interrelated challenges of poverty, disease, climate change, pollution and more. The School of Public Policy includes the Dean's Office and four research centers: the Center for Sustainable Suburban Development, the Presley Center for Crime and Justice, the One Health Center which is part of the UC Global Health Institute, and the Blum Initiative for Global and Regional Poverty.

Technology, Society and Policy

      The UCR School of Public Policy (SPP) invites applications for a tenured faculty appointment in technology, society and policy. The appointment will be at the Associate or Full Professor rank. We are looking for candidates with a strong research record and policy interest in topics at the intersection of society and technology (particularly broadband and digital technologies), with an emphasis on the role of public policy in expanding broadband access and digital literacy, including ways that science and technology policy can improve social and economic opportunities and civic participation. We are particularly interested in candidates that have a research interest in how broadband access and digital technologies can improve student learning outcomes, narrow the achievement gap in education, and foster equality of opportunity for students across the grade-level spectrum—from kindergarten through college.

Cluster Hire for Community Translational Health

The University of California, Riverside (UCR) invites applications for a faculty cluster hire for up to 2 tenured or tenure-track faculty appointments. The goal of the cluster hire is to significantly increase UCR’s capacity to conduct high quality interdisciplinary population health research. It is a multi- position cluster hire that encompasses the College of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences (CHASS), the College of Natural and Agricultural Sciences (CNAS), the School of Medicine (SOM) and the School of Public Policy (SPP). Successful candidates will be housed within the department or departments that fit their research specialization with the option of a secondary cooperating faculty appointment if appropriate. Relevant disciplines include, but are not limited to, Economics, Medicine, Political Science, Psychology, Public Health, Public Policy, and Sociology.

Cluster Hire for Design Based and Statistical Inference for Social Science and Policy Evaluation

We envision the mix of hires within this cluster to be at both the junior and senior levels across multiple disciplines. We seek candidates who excel at developing, testing, and applying cutting-edge research designs and statistical methods for causal identification. The goal of this cluster is to establish a core group of faculty who can work across disciplines and enhance methodological rigor in basic, applied, and evaluation research across the campus.
